I love the Vintage Toronto facebook page collective. It’s really becoming a collective where people gather and share their thoughts on our beautiful city. I stick to my guns in saying that I could only live in a big city (or for the next two years… otherwise). That’s for venues like the Pornographic Onion, which use to be located at Gould and Victoria, just off of Yonge and Dundas.
The Pornographic Onion was initiated in 1968 by a group of Radio and Television Broadcasting students who were looking for a short term venue for Ryerson’s Winter Carnival. It however ended up staying open for another two years hosting acts like my dearest Phil Oochs, Ian and Sylvia and Bruce Cockburn just to name a few.
There’s apparently a course at Ryerson on the history of the school’s immediate area.
An old flyer of the 3’s A Crowd tour with David Wiffen, Colleen Peterson, and Richard Peterson. These guys were associated with Mama Cass Elliott who co-produced the group’s sole album release.
Looks like someone affiliated with the Ryerson class published a blog about the class! Not updated much.
