I like most of the films the Cohen Brothers make… I’m looking forward to seeing Inside Llewyn Davis, a film set in the 1960s folk scene in New York. I always get super excited any time I step in Greenwich Village in New York, thinking about how it once was the old stomping grounds for Dylan, Ochs, Seeger etc.[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl8DidbbTQM%5D
I cannot get enough of Carey Mulligan with long brown hair, this is my very favourite look on her:
In excitedly waiting to hear back from a potential employer, I found myself drawn to listen to this old friend, “Beach Comber” by Real Estate. It also reminded me of a golden song moment in How I Met Your Mother.
I fell hard for this band after a short stint subscribing to Daytrotter. The tune “Wandering Star” came on in one of their best of lists.
I’m pretty jazzed for the band’s next album to drop. So far from the tunes I’ve heard one hit and one miss. Here’s the hit and a sweet note that the band wrote as collateral if you pre-order their album… I’m a big fan, but I ain’t buying into that.
This is what felt right today:
Anything Justin Vernon touches is absolutely flawless. I suspect no less of this album!
Years ago, I saw Maria Taylor play the Horseshoe with MY MOM. It was a weird transitional period where I had just turned 19 and my friends hadn’t quite caught up with me yet, this was all in addition to my regular issues trying to get people to go to gigs with me. The difference now? — I’ll do a concert alone.
I’m happy to hear Ms. Taylor is coming out with a new album. It’s been a while since I’ve felt like listening to her music… This may just be the one!
Perhaps I’ve gushed about this tune already, but with every listen I fall more in love with it. Hopefully, I won’t song kill it. Also, what’s the deal with lyrics videos? Strange…
