I’m over-the-moon excited to see my favourite band play Massey Hall. If you don’t know of this venue, it’s Toronto’s most elegant place to see an act in town. The theatre was built in 1894, with big renovations almost a century later in 1981. Neil Young famously played Massey Hall in 1971 and released an album called Live at Massey Hall 1971. The National played Massey Hall back in 2010, followed by a hockey arena gig at the Air Canada Centre in 2011. I’m thrilled they’ve planned a three-night stand and to realize that Toronto really digs the National.
The pre-sale’s sold out, but you can grab tickets through the regular sale on Friday. I may just try my luck again on Friday morning as well.
