Gush: Father John Misty “Bored in the USA”

Have you been listening to indie radio stations lately? Yes you say? Then you’ve probably heard Father John Misty’s tune “Bored in the USA” quite a bit. People are loving it and I couldn’t agree more.

Here’s some sweet merch in support of the new album, I Love You, Honeybear, due February 10, 2015. The album’s apparently a concept album.

Gush: (B)ryan Adams

I think I’m going to try and weasel my way into the Ryan Adams gig at Massey Hall next week. He’s an artist I’ve always respected, but never really got into. I’m hoping this is my opportunity!

I had a terrific a-ha moment when I realized the new Ryan Adams album reflects Bryan Adam’s 1984 album Reckless.

The name twins also share birthdays… Pretty amazing. Here’s their comedic exchange:

Gush: ‘Heaven Adores You’ … the Elliott Smith doc

I present the first four minutes of the Elliott Smith documentary Heaven Adores You. I missed it when it rolled through as a part of Canadian Music Week in Toronto.

Hopefully, I’ll get a cinema run through of the film. It’d be nice to see the guy brought back to life on the big screen.

Gush (!!!): DAMIEN RICE ‘My Favourite Faded Fantasy’

Pretty jazzed to get my ears on Damien Rice’s new album My Favourite Faded Fantasy. I’m also pretty happy to see the Canadian European spelling of favourite.

It’s been a very long time since Rice has given us anything. This is his very first album sans the full-voiced Lisa Hannigan.
